The Red Sox are hosting the Yankees for the first time this season, and begin a three-game set Friday night.
The Boston Red Sox head on the road to begin a three-game series against the New York Yankees. This is the first time that the Red Sox have visited the Yankees this year, and this time around the game will have a different look as the Red Sox will be facing Ichiro Suzuki for the first time as a Yankee.
The Red Sox will have Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford back in the lineup against the Yankees, as last time the two were out with injuries.
Heading to the mound for the Red Sox is Aaron Cook who is 2-3 on the year and has an ERA of 3.50. In his last three starts Cook is 0-2 and has allowed six runs.
The Yankees are countering with Phil Hughes who is looking for his 10th win of the season. Hughes faced the Red Sox back on July 7 where he earned the loss by throwing 5.1 innings, gave up 10 hits and three runs.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 a.m. ET and will be telivesed on NESN as well as the MLB Network, and can be heard on WEEI 93.7 FM/850 AM or WWZN 1510.
