Brent Lillibridge will make his Red Sox debut Tuesday night as Daisuke Matsuzaka takes on Aaron Laffey and the Toronto Blue Jays in Fenway Park.
Lillibridge, who came to Boston in the Kevin Youkilis trade on Sunday, has had a very rough beginning to the season, particularly against left-handed pitchers like Laffey. Over the last few years, however, he's been much better, hitting southpaws to the tune of an .854 OPS.
Lillibridge is not the only adjustment being made to take on the lefty, however. Darnell McDonald will play next to him in left field, and Cody Ross will move up to the fourth spot in the lineup, replacing Jarrod Saltalamacchia who will hit seventh.
