Boston Red Sox Roster Moves: Cody Ross Activated, Scott Podsednik Placed On Disabled List

The Boston Red Sox have activated Cody Ross from the 15-day disabled list and the outfielder will be in the lineup Tuesday night against the Miami Marlins, the Boston Globe reported on Tuesday.

Ross' return comes at a good time for the Red Sox, who placed Scott Podsednik on the 15-day disabled list after he injured his groin on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs.

The 31-year old Ross has not been in the Red Sox lineup since May 18, when he broke a bone in his foot after fouling a ball off of it. In 37 games with Boston this season, he is batting .271 with eight home runs and 28 RBI. He played a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket this weekend, managing one hit in seven at-bats over two games.

The Red Sox outfield has been struck by the injury bug all season long.
