The Boston Red Sox are looking to respond from a weekend series sweep at the hand of the Washington Nationals with a strong outing Monday night in Florida when they take on the Miami Marlins.
Josh Beckett (4-6, 4.04 ERA) will take the mound for Boston in his first opportunity to face the team he led to a World Series title almost nine years ago. He'll face Marlins pitcher Josh Johnson (3-4, 4.56 ERA).
Beckett has twice missed the chance to play his old team when his spot in the rotation came just one game after Boston's last visit to Miami in 2006 and then one game before a series at Fenway Park in 2009.
