Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday. Youkilis will get three designated hitter at-bats for the PawSox against the Durham Bulls.
Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said
"We're going to try to get him at least three at-bats as a DH. He looked really good taking his ground balls today -- moving around, bounce in his step," said manager Bobby Valentine. "So he'll start tomorrow and get him enough -- whatever it's going to take to have him to say that he feels good. He'll good from DH to playing the field." (via WEEI)
Youkilis has missed time since April 28 with a back strain. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 2. Youkilis is hitting .219 this season with two home runs, nine RBI and five walks in 18 games.
