The Daniel Bard starting experiment may be over. Bobby Valentine, manager of the Boston Red Sox, told WHDH-TV in his weekly appearance that Daniel Bard, currently the team's fifth starter, will skip his next start and will be available in the bullpen, according to a report from WEEI.

Bard has made two starts this season, going 0-2 with a 4.63 ERA, 13 strikeouts and eight walks. In his last start, Bard gave up one earned run on four hits and seven walks but did strike out seven in the Red Sox' 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Bard has a career 5-15 record with a 2.98 ERA and 226 strikeouts in four seasons in Boston.

Valentine's full interview on WHDH can be seen at 11:25 p.m. EST Sunday night.
