Earlier this off-season the owner of the Boston Red Sox, John Henry, made comments regarding the Sox' 142 million dollar outfielder, Carl Crawford. Henry basically said he wasn't behind signing of Crawford prior to the 2011 season.

Now, via Mike Petraglia of WEEI, Henry regrets his previous comments and plans to apologize to Crawford.

"I do," Henry said when asked if he regrets what he said about his star left fielder. "I should have never made those comments. It was an off-the-cuff remark I shouldn't have made so when I see him, I'm going to apologize to him for it."

Year one of the Crawford contract turned out to be an unmitigated disaster for both Crawford and the Red Sox. The 29 year old had the worst season of his career, accumulating a career-low WAR of 0.2. Crawford's previous low in WAR was 2002, when he played only 63 games as a rookie for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
