Oakland Athletics first baseman/left fielder Conor Jackson has reportedly been traded to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for minor league pitcher Jason Rice, according to a source of WEEI.com's Rob Bradford.

According to a major league source, the Red Sox have reached a deal with the A's for outfielder Conor Jackson in exchange for minor league pitcher Jason Rice. More details to come. (via WEEI)

Jackson has played seven MLB season, spending his first six years with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the last two with the Athletics. In 646 career games, Jackson has a .272 batting average with 51 home runs and 290 RBI.

This season, Jackson is batting .249 with four homers and 38 RBI through 102 games. In addition, Jackson has walked 30 times and has struck out 50 times. He has an OBP of .315 and a .342 slugging percentage.
