2011 Home Run Derby: David Ortiz Hits Five Home Runs In First Round

David Ortiz managed just five home runs in the first round of the 2011 Home Run Derby at Chase Field in Arizona on Monday night. Ortiz, the captain of the American League squad, has hit 19 home runs for the Red Sox this season.

Ortiz' teammate, Adrian Gonzalez, hit nine home runs in the first round and is the current leader in the derby. Curtis Granderson of the New York Yankees is second with three, Matt Holliday hit three and Jose Bautista had three long balls in the first round. Matt Kemp was the low man, hitting just two home runs.
