2012 NIT Tournament Schedule And Bracket: Washington Takes On Northwestern

Round one of the 2012 NIT is in the books and round three is set to begin on Friday. Only 16 teams remain, including the UMass Minutemen, who won a double overtime thriller in round one.

The only game slated for Friday is the quarterfinal match-up between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Washington Huskies. The Wildcats are the four seed in the region, while Washington is the one seed.

Northwestern won their first round match-up by two points while Washington cruised by double digits.

The winner of Friday's quarterfinal will earn a spot amongst the final eight teams and play the winner of the region's other quarterfinal between Oregon and Iowa.

Friday's game can be seen on ESPNU and ESPN3.
