Boston College Vs. Georgia Tech: Eagles Meet Yellow Jackets In Home Finale

Dennis Clifford and the Boston College Eagles (8-20, 3-11 ACC) face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-18, 3-11 ACC) in a battle to avoid the ACC basement in the home finale Wednesday at Conte Forum (ACC Network/WRKO).

For the final time this season at Conte Forum, the Boston College Eagles (8-20, 3-11 ACC) face the ACC foe Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-18, 3-11 ACC) for the right to stay out of last place in the conference at 7 p.m. EDT on Wednesday night in Chestnut Hill, MA (TV/Radio: ACC Network/WRKO 680 AM).

Boston College trails the all-time series against Georgia Tech, 9-5. Since joining the ACC, the Yellow jackets are 5-4 against the Eagles. As pointed out by the Eagles' game notes, Georgia Tech has bested Boston College twice in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Neither team will likely reach that point, though, on account of their struggles.

The two schools met once earlier in the season, with the Yellow Jackets taking a 51-17 win on Feb. 4 in Atlanta. Dennis Clifford made a layup to put BC up 12-11 early, but in typical fashion, the Eagles went on a scoring draught that saw them go scoreless for then next 15 possessions, and they never recovered. Glen Rice Jr. finished with 11 points, including three in the closing minute, to lead Georgia Tech while Matt Humphrey scored 15 and Ryan Anderson had five points and 11 rebounds in the loss, which was Boston College's sixth straight at the time.

Things haven't exactly improved for the Eagles since then. BC has lost four of its last five, but it's lone win was a 64-60 win over then No. 15/17 Florida State. Wake Forest was the latest team to overcome Boston College, running away with an 85-56 win on Feb. 25. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets have also lost four of five since beating the Eagles, but the lone win came in their last game, a 63-61 defeat of Maryland.

Boston College heads south to face the Miami Hurricanes in the regular season finale on March 3. The Eagles lost to the Canes, 64-49, in their previous meeting this season at Conte Forum.
