Boston College Vs. Virginia Tech: Eagles Seek Another ACC Win

Jordan Daniels, who is coming off a strong performance against Florida State, looks to lead the Boston College Eagles (8-16, 3-7 ACC) past the Virginia Tech Hokies (13-11, 2-7 ACC) at 6:00 p.m. EDT Sunday (TV/Radio: ESPNU/WRKO).

Jordan Daniels came up big for the Boston College Eagles on Wednesday, leading the team with 19 points and five assists to lead an upset win over the Florida St. Seminoles. Daniels and company will try to keep the wins coming when they face the struggling Virginia Tech Hokies at 6:00 p.m. EDT Sunday at Cassell Coliseum (TV/Radio: ESPNU/WRKO).

Boston College and Virginia Tech have met once already this season, with the Eagles winning 61-59 at home earlier in the season. BC leads the all-time series 14-7 and is currently riding a four-game winning streak against the Hokies. In addition, the Eagles have won eight of 13 meeting since they joined the ACC in the 2005-06 season.

Last time out, the Eagles pulled off a shocking upset over No. 15/17 Florida State. Daniels' strong game led BC to a 64-60 victory at Conte Forum, which was by far their best win of the season. The Eagles competed from start to finish, and although they let their lead slip several times, Steve Donahue made sure his team did not peter out in the final minutes.

Matt Humphrey had another 15-points game and Ryan Anderson chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds for Boston College, which shot 39.6 percent from the floor. Lonnie Jackson was the only other Eagle in double digits with 12 points.

The Hokies are fresh off a bad loss to the Miami Hurricanes, 65-49, on Thursday. Erick Green, the Hokies' leading scorer, was the only player from Virginia Tech to finish with double digit scoring, finishing with a game-high 17 points. Dorenzo Hudson scored eight off the bench and both Victor Davila and Jarell Eddie totaled six points apiece.

Boston College will head back out on the road to face the Maryland Terrapins on Feb. 16.
