Boston College Football Recruiting, National Signing Day 2012: Eagles Hoping For Last Minute Surprises

The Boston College Eagles currently have 16 commitments for the class of 2012. They are hoping for a few surprises on National Signing Day.

Feb 1, 2012 - The Boston College Eagles received plenty of good news on Tuesday, picking up commitments from tight end Michael Giacone and athlete David Dudeck to help offset the decommits from TE Sam Grant and CB Donovan Henry. With only 16 players pledging their commitments so far, the Eagles could be in for some more surprises during National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Linebacker Steven Daniels and offensive lineman Win Homer are arguably the stars of this year's class, depending on your recruiting service du jour. Rivals.com ranks both as four-star prospects, with Homer ranking among the Top 250 recruits in the nation.

The New England region is prime for the Eagles to steal recruits, with Penn State and Rutgers going through coaching upheavals. One player to keep an eye on will be linebacker Steve Longa, who had previously committed to the Scarlet Knights. If new Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood can't bring Longa back in the fold, the Rivals 3-star could very well wind up in Boston.
