Patrick Heckmann Out For One Month

Patrick Heckmann missed the Boston College Eagles' game against the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday with mono, and head coach Steve Donahue says that he will likely be out for the entire month or February and possibly more.

"Patrick has mono," Donahue confirmed after the game."It's going to be a long time, probably the whole month of February without him, so we get him back in March."

Heckmann started off strong or Boston College and was the team's leading scorer through the opening portion of the season, but recent struggles have cost Heckmann his starting position and playing time. As of Sunday, Heckmann is averaging 9.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Star-divide

Heckmann's career began with a bang, as the freshman forward from Germany scored 19 points in the Eagles' season-opening win over New Hampshire. Heckmann's best game came against UC Riverside, when he scored an Eagles season-high 32 points while going 10-for-10 from the free throw line and grabbing five rebounds in a BC overtime win.
