Boston College Vs. Boston University: Eagles Take On Rival Terriers

D.J. Irving and the Boston University Terriers (3-4) take on the Boston College Eagles (2-5) in the first meeting between the Eagles and Terriers since the 2004-05 season at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday (TV/Radio: ESPN3/WEEI, 1510 AM).

BC and BU have met 55 total times, with the Eagles owning a 38-17 record. The Eagles have won the last eight meeting against the Terriers, with the most recent victory coming on December 11, 2004 - an 80-74 win. BC and BU met annually from 2001 through 2004, with the Eagles winning every game. Prior to that game, the last time the Eagles and Terriers met on the hardwood was on January 30, 1981 - a 57-52 win for Boston College.

Boston College (2-5) is coming off a 62-54 loss to the Penn St. Nittany Lions in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night. Matt Humphrey scored 15 points to lead the Eagles, who shot a dismal 36.4 percent (16-for-44). Patrick Heckmann, the Eagles' leading scorer (12.0 PPG), was held to three points in the loss.

Boston University (3-4) won its last game, 73-67, against the Delaware Blue Hens on Wednesday. Darryl Partin scored 27 points on 12-of-26 shooting and had seven rebounds, D.J. Irving had eight points, 11 assists and seven rebounds and Travis Robinson finished with 16 points for the Terriers. Partin is BU's leading scorer, averaging 23.4 points per game, while Irving averages 13.4 points and 4.9 assists.

BC faces Providence next on Thursday while BU takes on Saint Joseph's on Wednesday.
