The loss of Ray Allen will hurt the Boston Celtics fanbase for a bit, however, it will not hurt the franchise's pocketbook, and the newly found funds could lead to a solid payday for forward Jeff Green. According to sources of the Boston Herald, the Celtics are offering Green a contract worth $36 million over four seasons, which would lockup the big man for a few more seasons.

The deal could be officially announced sometime earlier this week, says Green's agent David Falk.

Last season, Green would have played under a one-year, $9-million contract, however, an aortic aneurism forced the 25-year-old to miss the season and voided the deal.

In 2010-11, Green averaged 15.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game with the Oklahoma City Thunder, before he was traded to Boston, where he 9.8 ppg and 3.3 rpg.
