Boston Celtics free agent guard Ray Allen is nearing a decision as to which team he will join for the season ahead. A Thursday report from ESPN says that two teams, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers, are the leading candidates for his services. Both teams are also using some heavy hitters to recruit Allen.
LeBron James is trying to sway Allen's decision to come to South Beach. Allen is being wooed by Chris Paul to come to the West Coast. Celtics fans, according to the same report, should not give up hope just yet, as Allen has not ruled out re-signing with Boston.
Allen will visit Miami on Thursday. On Friday, he will travel to Los Angeles for a visit with the Clippers, who could offer more money and more prominent role with the team.
A decision could come by the end of the weekend.
