Celtics Offseason 2012: Kevin Garnett, Chris Wilcox And Brandon Bass Re-Sign With Boston

The Boston Celtics have made it official: Brandon Bass, Chris Wilcox and Kevin Garnett will all be adorned in green once again next season and beyond.

The Celtics re-signed all three forwards on Saturday, coming as little shock to the fan base.

Garnett is of course the headliner of the trio. After much speculation whether or not Garnett would retire, he decided to come back after a bounce-back year. While terms weren't disclosed, the deal is rumored to be for three years and $30 million.

"I’m more than happy and I’m excited to be back!" said Garnett.

General manager Danny Ainge added that he couldn't be happier to see Garnett once again leading his team.

"We are ecstatic that Kevin will continue his career with the Celtics," said Ainge. "Kevin has greatly changed the culture since he first put on a Celtics jersey and he has come to embody everything that we want in a Celtic."

Bass averaged 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game last season, proving to be a key contributor. Ainge clearly feels good about retaining the youngster.

"Bringing Brandon back to the team was a top priority of ours after the season had ended," said Ainge. "Brandon has improved as a player every year that he has been in the NBA and we believe that the best is yet to come from him."

Wilcox returns after missing the end of the season due to a heart condition. The power forward/center played just over 17 minutes per game last year and showed that he can provide nice depth in the frontcourt.

"In bringing Chris back to the team, we are gaining a very versatile guy who is capable of banging down low in the paint and is able to run out on the break as well," said Ainge.
