Kevin Garnett Signs 3-Year Deal With Boston Celtics, According To Report

The Boston Celtics and Kevin Garnett have agreed to a three-year contract worth $34 million, according to a report from Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Garnett had been considering retirement, but decided to return to the Celtics rather than end his Hall of Fame career.

The big man averaged 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds last season in 31.1 minutes per game. He was dominant going forward from the All-Star break, including a postseason run during which he registered 19.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while providing his normal suffocating defensive presence.

Garnett will turn 39 years old before the end of his contract, but played at a high level last season and is known for staying in fantastic shape.

The news of Garnett's return was first reported by Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

With Garnett in tow, the Celtics are likely to attempt another shot at a title run rather than start a rebuilding process.
