NBA Draft Rumors 2012: Celtics Promise To Take Royce White At No. 21 If He Falls, According To Report

The Boston Celtics have reportedly told Iowa State's Royce White that they will select him at No. 21 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft if the power forward falls that far. Chad Ford announced the promise between White and the Celtics via Twitter Thursday night.

If Tom Ziller's latest NBA Mock Draft is any indication, White should be available when the Celtics make their first selection. Prior to Thursday's news, Ziller had White going No. 25 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

White averaged 13.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game with the Cyclones last season. He helped ISU to a win over UConn in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, putting up 15 points and 13 rebounds.
