The Boston Celtics were down one point, 87-86, late to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 5 of their first round Eastern Conference series of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo had opportunities to give the Celtics a win on the team's final two possessions, but couldn't quite come through in the clutch. With 19 seconds left, Pierce got a good look at a 2-pointer inside the 3-point line, but airballed wide right.
Rondo gave Boston another chance with a steal off Josh Smith with 10 seconds to go. He dribbled the ball down to the final seconds, then turned the ball over on a pass out of bounds to seal the win for Atlanta.
Rondo and Pierce will try to redeem themselves when the series goes back to TD Garden for Game 6 on Thursday.
