2012 NBA Playoffs, Celtics Vs. Hawks: Zaza Pachulia Injury Will Keep Him Out Of Next Three Games

The Atlanta Hawks will need somebody with size to step up if Josh Smith cannot play in Game 3. But it won't be Zaza Pachulia.

Per Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Pachulia told reporters Thursday that he has a bone chip in his foot that occurred on April 13. The original timetable for the injury was 4-6 weeks, which would set back Pachulia at least another week. The center said he will be out for Games 3, 4 and 5, and will probably miss Game 6 if the game is necessary.

The ailing Hawks are still hoping Smith will return for Game 3 despite patellar tendonitis that took him out of Game 2. Smith said he would go harder than usual during practice Thursday to gauge how his knee responds.
