Hawks Vs. Celtics, Game 2: Mickael Pietrus Starts For Suspended Rajon Rondo; Ray Allen A Game-Time Decision

Stay connected for news and updates

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers briefly spoke with the media Tuesday morning before Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks, and a few things were revealed. First, Mickael Pietrus will start for the suspended Rajon Rondo, meanwhile, veteran shooting guard Ray Allen playing status is still unknown and he will be a game-time decision.

Pietrus will make his seventh start of the 2011-12 season, which has featured him averaging 21.9 minutes and 6.9 points per game. Pietrus backcourt-mate will be Avery Bradley, who scored just 10 points on 4 of 12 shooting in his first postseason start of his career, which ended with Boston losing 83-74 on Sunday.

In late January, both Bradley and Pietrus started together to help the Celtics earn back-to-back victories, while during an eight-game stretch in the middle of the season, Bradley played well as a replacement of Rondo, who was recovering from a sprained wrist.
