Ray Allen Status: Celtics Guard Out Vs. Jazz On Wednesday Night

Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen was a last-minute scratch for Wednesday night's game against the Utah Jazz.

Allen participated in the morning shootaround but is apparently still battling a sore right ankle and is unable to play. Boston head coach Doc Rivers ruled Allen out about an hour before the game. Rivers is hoping that his guard will be back on the court on Friday against the Timberwolves. Allen has missed the past three games for Boston. The Celtics are 2-1 in those games.

Without Allen, the team will have to turn to Avery Bradley once again. Bradley has averaged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 16.9 minutes per game this season.

Allen has started 41 games this season for Boston. He's averaged 14.6 points (third on the team), 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game and 1.02 steals per game (third on the team) in 34.2 minutes per game.
