Rajon Rondo let his emotions fly free in Sunday night's debilitating loss to the Detroit Pistons, throwing a basketball at a referee following a non-call under the basket late in the third quarter. Rondo received a double technical foul for his actions, resulting in his ejection. Rondo will likely face a fine, a suspension or both as a result of the incident.
Rondo finished the game with five points on 1-of-6 shooting but had 10 assists in 28 minutes for Boston, which fell for the second time in less than a week to the lowly Pistons, 96-81, in Auburn Hills, MI. The Celtics
were shooting nearly 60 percent after the first quarter, but the score was tied at 26. Boston was outscored 29-16 in the second quarter and was never able to recover. The Celtics next play on Monday night against the Dallas Mavericks
, and they will likely be without Rondo's services.
