BOSTON - It was Rajon Rondo and everybody else in the first half. Rondo finished with 19 points through 24 minutes to lead the Boston Celtics to a 49-47 lead over the Detroit Pistons through two quarters on Wednesday night at TD Garden.
Chris Wilcox, starting in place of an injured Kevin Garnett, provided a nice boost in the half with 10 points and four rebounds. Ray Allen scored eight, JaJuan Johnson added six points and Keyon Dooling had two points off the bench.
Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons with 15 first-half points. Tayshaun Prince scored eight early points, Greg Monroe had six points and ben Gordon added eight points off the bench.
Boston shot 47 percent while Detroit shot 43 percent from the floor in the opening half.
