Dwight Howard had a very Howard-like performance, finishing the half with 14 points and eight rebounds for Orlando, which made 11-of-38 baskets to shoot 29 percent. Glen Davis, who received a video tribute in the first quarter and was clearly emotional when acknowledging the fans, put together a nice half with six points and seven boards off the bench.
Paul Pierce was the high man for the Celtics in the half, totaling 13 points, eight of which came in the first quarter. Brandon Bass scored 13 points and Kevin Garnett had just four points but had a team-high seven rebounds at the break.
