Ray Allen jammed his left ankle during the second quarter of the Boston Celtics' win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon and was forced to leave the game. Allen did not return and was later diagnosed with the ankle injury.

"I know it's a sprain," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said following the win. "I was joking with Flip when the same guy the third time knocked him down, I asked him if they had a hit out on Ray. [The trainer] said he jammed his ankle."

After the game, Allen told reporters that he will be a game-time decision on Monday night when the Celtics return home to host the Orlando Magic and former teammate, Glen Davis.

"I was excited to come back out on the floor and work through it, but I feel too much tightness and pain [in the back of my ankle] right now," Allen said after the game. "I think it's a blessing that we played earlier and have the rest of the day to [heal]. I had an X-ray, and the doctor, from what he said, that there's not too many problems with my ankle, nothing new."

Allen scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting before leaving the game Sunday. Entering the game, Allen was the Celtics' leading scorer averaging 15.5 points while also averaging 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 13 games this season.
