Celtics Vs. Suns: Rajon Rondo Out, Avery Bradley Starts On Friday

Stay connected for news and updates

BOSTON - Rajon Rondo underwent an MRI on his right wrist on Thursday night, and the results came back negative. However, the Boston Celtics' start point guard will still be held out of Friday night's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Rondo suffered the injury following a flagrant foul on the Raptors' Linas Kleiza late in the third quarter of the Celtics' blowout win over Toronto on Wednesday night. Rondo, who led all scorers with 21 points before being injured, stayed in the game to take the two free throws (he made one of two) but left the game immediately afterwards and did not return.

This season, Rondo is averaging 15.0 points and 9.4 assists. Avery Bradley, who is averaging 2.4 points and half an assist off the bench this year, will start in his place. E'Twaun Moore will come off the bench behind Bradley.
