Celtics Vs. Mavericks: Marquis Daniels In, Michael Pietrus Debuts

Stay connected for news and updates

BOSTON - Marquis Daniels is healthy and will play tonight for the Boston Celtics against the defending champion Dallas Mavericks, according to Celtics head coach Doc Rivers during his pregame talk with the media. Daniels had been battling migraines, but is ready to return. JaJuan Johnson and Sasha Pavlovic will be inactive tonight for Boston.

Michael Pietrus is set to make his Celtics debut tonight after recovering from offseason knee surgery. Pietrus, who was signed to a veteran minimum contract by the C's after being waived by the Phoenix Suns, said he has been pain free for about a week, and Rivers is happy to finally have him -- and everybody else -- back in the mix.

"That's nice. First time this year," Rivers said about his team being almost completely healthy. "Well Sasha actually isn't healthy. He hurt his hand 10 days ago. We're pretty much healthy."
