Lawrence Frank Hired By Detroit Pistons As New Head Coach

Lawrence Frank, who served as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics last season, has been hired by the Detroit Pistons to be the team's new head coach. Frank complied a 225-241 record as the Nets' head coach from 2003 to 2010.

Lawrence Frank Hired By Detroit Pistons As New Head Coach

Lawrence Frank has been hired by the Detroit Pistons as the franchise's next head coach, according to a report on Twitter from Yahoo! Sports NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski also reported that Frank's contract includes a team option for a fourth season. Despite reports that said otherwise, Wojnarowski said on Twitter that Frank was the favorite of Pistons' GM Joe Dumars all along.

Frank served as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics last season. Frank was the head coach of the New Jersey Nets from 2003 through 2010, compiling a 225-241 record with an 18-20 mark in the playoffs.
