Stay connected for news and updates

Reggie Jackson, you fooled us all. Jackson, a guard from Boston College, was drafted with the No. 24 overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2011 NBA Draft on Thursday, but had been , mysteriously quiet throughout the process.

Jackson didn't provide any medical records and cancalled all of his workouts, creating a buzz around him. Some experts speculate that the Thunder had promised to draft Jackson, but that's not what he told reporters.

"I had been playing with a lingering knee injury and it finally got to the point where it was too painful," Jackson told The Boston Globe. "I had to get it checked out and I had to have an operation. I was hoping to be back early enough to do workouts. Unfortunately, I wasn't." (via The Oklahoman)

No harm, no foul according to Thunder GM Sam Presti, who is happy to have Jackson.

"He's a guy who can play multiple positions, the 1 and the 2," Brooks said. "He's tough. Defensively, he could be very good. ... He's a talented kid. We're exciting what he can bring to our team. He's a rebounding guard and we like that."
