NBA Rumors: David West, Boston Celtics 'Close' To A Deal, According To Report

The Boston Celtics may be close to taking another step towards bolstering its 2011-12 line-up after a report on Friday suggested the team was "close to a deal" with free agent power forward David West.

David Aldridge reports:

A two-time All-Star, West has averaged 16.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in his eight NBA seasons. If healthy, West would be a boon whether starting or coming off the bench for the Celtics, who acquired Brandon Bass earlier Friday from Orlando for forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis.

West has been with the New Orleans Hornets since being drafted in 2003 and; however, the 31-year old veteran ruptured his ACL last season and has not been considered one of the "must-have" free agents.

Until now.

In addition, Adrian Wojnarowski brings word sign-and-trade deal would be worth $27-29 million across three years.
