Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo are rumored to be participants in the World All-Star Classic, a six-game worldwide tour of NBA all-stars spanning four weeks that is set to begin on Sunday, October 30th in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
With the NBA Lockout claiming regular season NBA games, the league's biggest stars are set to embark upon a six-game worldwide tour spanning four weeks and four continents, and three Boston Celtics - Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo - could be among the participants.
The tour, dubbed the World All-Star Classic, was first reported last week by ESPN.com and has been in the works for the past three months, but terms and logistics are now finalized and an official announcement will be made by the tour's organizers on Wednesday. (via ESPN)
LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard will reportedly highlight the roster of 18 NBA all-stars, with the Celtics' trio of stars also potentially in the mix. Amar'e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Blake Griffin, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Carlos Boozer, Derrick Rose, Tyson Chandler, Steve Nash, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Chris Kaman are also rumored participants.
The tour is set to begin on Sunday, October 30 in San Juan at Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, and tickets for the opening game will go on sale on Wednesday afternoon. After that, the tour heads to the Q2 Arena in London, England for games and November 1 and November 3. The third game will be played at the Cotai Arena at the Venetian Hotel in Macau with the last two game being played in Melbourne, Australia at the Rob Laver Arena on November 8 and November 9.
