2012 NHL Draft Rumors: Boston Bruins Could Acquire Additional Draft Pick, Says General Manager

Stay connected for news and updates

The Boston Bruins have not ruled out acquiring another selection in Friday night's 2012 NHL Draft, general manager Peter Chiarelli said earlier this week.

The Bruins are slated to have five picks in this weekend's draft, since they traded their second- and fourth-round selections away. They also signed two free agents in the spring, defenseman Toney Krug and goalie Niklas Svedberg. But Chiarelli has thought about looking for more picks.

Via the Taunton Gazette:

"As a manager, you try to have your seven picks one way or another," general manager Peter Chiarelli said in a conference call Monday. "In my mind, that would give us seven, with Krug and Svedberg. But having said that, if I can acquire another pick, it would be nice."
