The Bruins come into the Verizon Center in Washington looking to regain home ice advantage after watching it slip away in Game Two.
After two games in Boston, not a thing has been settled.
Now, the Boston Bruins will travel to the Verizon Center to take on the Washington Capitals in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
The Bruins have to feel as though they've played the better series thus far, even after just splitting at home. Boston has carried the play throughout most of the games, only to be stymied by Braden Holtby at the doorstep of victory on multiple occasions.
Holtby came into the match-up as the Capitals third goalie and looked upon by most as a huge liability. Instead, he's only allowed two goals on 74 shots.
Tim Thomas has been spectacular as expected and will in all likelihood need to be again on Monday night in front of a raucous Washington crowd.
Alex Ovechkin is yet to score a goal and much of that credit lays with Dennis Seidenberg. Ovechkin can't get space, something that Caps coach Dale Hunter must be seriously concerned about going forward.
Both teams have to be a little worn down after playing in three overtime periods in two games, but thus is the nature of the NHL Playoffs.
