Boston managed just 21 shots on net for the night. They beat Henrik Lundqvist twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead, however. Dennis Seidenberg scored his fifth goal of the season on a slapshot at the blueline four minutes into the period, assisted by Zdeno Chara. Patrice Bergeron stuffed the puck in at the goal line on a powerplay for the game-winner at the 11:52 mark.
The Rangers struck first on the night when Marian Gaborik seized upon a long rebound into the neutral zone for a breakaway goal 4:33 into the game. They wouldn't find net again, however, despite five shots on goal each from Ryan Callahan and Marc Staal.
