The Boston Bruins have recalled goaltender Michael Hutchinson from their AHL affiliate in Providence after a injury to Tuukka Rask. Rask left Saturday afternoon's loss against the New York Islanders with a leg or knee injury.
Hutchinson will travel with the Bruins to Madison Square Garden for Sunday's matinee against the New York Rangers. The 22 year old has played 18 games thus far this season for the Providence Bruins, earning six games and 11 losses. He has a 2.62 goals against average and a 0.920 save percentage. Hutchinson was drafted by the Bruins in the third round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
The Bruins have not yet released any details about Rask's exact injury or how long he may be out.
