Bruins Vs. Ducks Score Update: B's Put Up Two Quick Goals, Up 2-1 After 40 Minutes

Zdeno Chara and Benoit Pouliot each put up a goal in the first half of the second period, netting the two goals in a span of 1:22 to put the Bruins up 2-1 heading into the second intermission.

While it was Chara's slap shot that found it's way to the back of the net for the first goal, a sneaky little fake shot from Chris Kelly, turned into a pass to Benoit Pouliot in the slot, and his wrister fooled Jonas Hiller for the second goal.

Bruins currently are outshooting the Ducks 18-13 through the two periods, and they outshot them 12-7 in that period alone.

Despite the one goal lead, the Bruins did let up a power play goal midway through the period to veteran Teemu Selanne.

Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid was called for the only penalty of the period--a holding penalty nine minutes into the second frame. Just 11 seconds in, Selanne had the tip-in, and the Bruins lead was cut in half.

Rich Peverley is now through two periods of his first game back in the lineup, and while he doesn't have a point on the board, his speed has obviously been missed in the lines.
