Bruins Overtime: B's Blown Out Again In 6-2 Loss At Florida

Things went from bad to worse for the Boston Bruins on Thursday evening when they dropped their fourth consecutive game from the confines of the BankAtlantic Center. The 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Southeast division-leading Florida Panthers is the B's sixth loss in nine outings during the month of March as the Black and Gold continue to struggle to find any sort of consistency in their game.

In what's becoming a trend recently, the Bruins fell behind early again, surrendering the first goal late in the opening frame. Former Nashville Predator Marcel Goc would add to the Panthers' lead only thirty-eight seconds into the second when he poked one past Tim Thomas.

Joe Corvo would make a game of it shortly after when his wrister found it's way through Jose Theodore to cut the Florida lead to 2-1. The Cats would respond quickly, adding two more tallies before the second period was finished. Stephen Weiss' 17th and John Madden's 1st as a Panther made it a 4-1 Florida lead after two periods of play.

A Brian Rolston power-play goal (his first as a Bruin) would make things interesting again, if only for a short while. Tomas Kopecky and Wojtek Wolski would take advantage of third period defensive zone turnovers by the B's to increase the Panthers' lead to a whopping 6-2.

Boston would fail to find the twine for the remainder of the contest as Theodore and the Cats held on for a convincing 6-2 victory.

The loss drops the B's record to 0-3-0 over their most recent road trip, whilst being outscored by an astounding 17-5.
