Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron is listed as day-to-day after suffering a lower body injury on Sunday afternoon.
The Boston Bruins' Sunday afternoon 5-2 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins felt like it was being played on Friday the 13th: the Bruins ran into bad injury luck at every turn.
Most worrisome to many Bruins fans was center Patrice Bergeron's lower body injury that struck him at the beginning of the second period and kept him off the ice save for one lackluster third period shift.
Bergeron and Bruins won't divulge what exactly the injury is, though head coach Claude Julien acknowledged post-game on Sunday that it was caused when he blocked a shot. The assistant captain is listed as day-to-day by Julien, but Bergeron is pushing to miss no time at all. He has his sight set on returning Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bergeron told BostonBruins.com Monday:
"We did some X-rays and they were negative so everything’s good...I want to get out there so we’ll try in the morning and see how it feels."
