Bruins Vs. Devils Score Update: B's Come Out Flying, Take 2-0 Lead After First

Stay connected for news and updates

The Bruins desperately needed to change something in order to get back to winning ways, and for the time being, Claude Julien looks like a genius.

Placing Tyler Seguin on the line with Milan Lucic and David Krejci, the reformed line quickly made a positive impact and scored two goals in the first period to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Krejci found the back of the net just 1:13 into the game, after Seguin broke through the zone with some impressive speed and found a crashing Krejci. Krejci put one in off Martin Brodeur's leg pad and into the back of the net for his 14th of the season.

The line didn't stop there, and seven more minutes into the period, Seguin put in his 21st goal of the year after Lucic powered through the Devils defense and made a quick turn and fired to Seguin who was there to put it in.

Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas earned his first assist of the season as well with that goal.

Thomas also picked up ten saves, while Brodeur made seven saves.

Shawn Thornton showed how tough it is being him, squaring off against Devils tough guy Eric Boulton just after the Bruins scored their first goal. He was sent back to the locker room after after for repairs though. It was his 17th fighting major of the season.
