Bruins Vs. Sabres Score Update: B's Robbed Of Goal, Down 2-0 Through One

Through one period in Buffalo, it appears it just hasn't been the Boston Bruins' night to this point. For one, they are down two scores through one, and they were clearly robbed of a goal by the referees midway though the period.

After Sabres goal tender Ryan Miller was struggling to find position, Bruins winger Milan Lucic appeared to beat him on a slap shot from mid-ice that would have put the B's on the scoreboard. However, head referee Rob Martell waived off the goal, citing goal tender interference by winger Rich Peverley. After several replays, it appeared that Peverley didn't make any contact with Miller, who sold it perfectly. But it is what is.

Goal or no goal, the Bruins would still find themselves behind in this one. The first of two Buffalo goals came after the 6:23 mark, when Christian Ehrhoff connected on a wrist shot and beat Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask for the opening score. The second came after 14:49 had passed, when Jason Pominville scored his eighteenth goal of the season on a backhanded shot that beat Rask. As a result, Buffalo has the 2-0 advantage heading into the intermission.

While the goals appeared to go in Buffalo's way, the fights went in favor of the B's. Shawn Thornton again found himself in the middle of a tussle as he go into it with with Cody McCormick after just over two minutes had passed. Thornton appeared to win this fight pretty easily. Following his no-goal, Milan Lucic took out his frustrations on Patrick Kaleta after a faceoff. Lucic got the better of him and got the take down. Five minute majors were enforced following both fights.

Ryan Miller has (technically) saved all 12 shots that have come his way, while Tuukka Rask has saved seven out of the nine Buffalo shots. Neither goalie has had to feel the pressure of a power play.
