Bruins Vs. Jets Preview: TV/Radio Info, Time, Location And More

Event: Boston Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets
Date/Time: Friday, February 17, 2012 - 8 p.m. EDT.
Location: MTS Centre (Capacity: 15,004), Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Broadcast Info: Friday's game between the Bruins and the Jets will be broadcast live on NESN and TSN. The game can also be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Dave Goucher providing play-by-play, and Bob Beers providing analysis.

Last Time Out: After the last month of trading wins and losses every night, the Bruins managed to pick up a 4-3 shootout win against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday. Andrew Ference, Benoit Pouliot and Patrice Bergeron each scored, giving the Bruins a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. The Habs came back to tie the game and send it to a shootout, but ultimately Tyler Seguin put one past Carey Price to give his team two points.

Tim Thomas was in net for the B’s again, stopping 26-of-29 shots including all three shootout attempts.

The Jets are coming off a similar situation, as they took 4-3 shootout win over Minnesota last night.

Evander Kane scored twice in regulation, and then shot the winning puck into the back of the net during the shootout. The 20-year-old now has 21 goals this season and leads his team in that category.

Storyline: Boston has won two of the three meetings against the Jets, including the most recent matchup back in January. The Bruins won 5-3 after Nathan Horton scored a goal eight seconds into the third period to tie the game up.

In that game, Shawn Thornton scored on a shorthanded attempt, just seconds after making his way out of the penalty box. Ondrej Pavelec did make 37 saves, including one on Daniel Paille who earned a penalty shot early in the game.

Tuukka Rask was in net for the Bruins and stopped 29-of-32 shots at his end of the ice
.
Players To Watch: Former Bruins forward Blake Wheeler now leads the team in points with 39 points, and has done well against his former team. He has one goal and one assist in three games.

Shawn Thornton has two goals against the Jets, one of them on the shorthand. With two top forwards out this game, it could be another opportunity for Thornton to shine.

Prediction: Tonight will be a chance for the Bruins to get back on track against a team that they have had some success against this season. Even without Horton and Peverley they should be able to produce some offense and earn their second straight victory. Final Score: Bruins 3, Jets 1.
