Bruins Sign Jamie Tardif and Josh Hennessy

In two AHL-level moves, the Bruins acquired forwards JamieTardif (two-year deal) and Josh Hennessy (one-year deal) today, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced.

Hennessy played in Switzerland last year, where he had 9-10=19 totals. The 25-year old has played 20 NHL games with the Ottawa Senators, scoring one goal and serving four penalty minutes. The 6'0", 198-pound Brockton, MA native was drafted 43rd overall by San Jose in 2003. He was the 2004 AHL rookie of the year, putting up  24-39=63 totals in 80 games. He added 99-114=213 totals in 289 games with the Binghamton Senators.

Tardif is a 6'0", 200-pound native of Welland, Ontario (where Nathan Horton and Daniel Paille hail from), who served as captain for the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings' AHL affiliate) for the past two seasons. He put up 27-27=54 totals in 77 games last year, setting career highs in all three categories. He has 78-76=154 totals in 316 career AHL games, all with Grand Rapids.
