Bruins Fans Will Do Anything For Stanley Cup Finals Tickets, Like Smashing Cars

The Boston Bruins will host the Vancouver Canucks in Game 3 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals Monday, making it the first Cup Final game in Beantown since 1990. With that in mind, it makes sense that Boston fans would do anything in order to see their beloved Bruins face off for the Stanley Cup, including smashing their own cars.

Local sports talk show "Toucher And Rich" on 98.5 The Sports Hub held a contest Monday morning called "Bruins Ticket Bash," where two "lucky" contestants had the opportunity to win Game 3 tickets by answering Bruins trivia questions. The caveat, however, was that for every answer that they got wrong, 98.5 personality Scott Zolak would smash their car with a sledgehammer.

Joe McCarthy defeated Mike Monteiro 3-2 to win the tickets, but both left with more damage than they would have liked. McCarthy's 1999 Grand Prix lost its headlights and windows, while Monteiro's 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue lost his headlights, windows and windshield. Luckily for Monteiro, he won a handy consolation prize: a free tow.
