"At one point, I thought we would be playing all night here," said Roberto Luongo.
↵Indeed, Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals appeared headed for (at least one) overtime, with the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks locked in a scoreless tie. But Raffi Torres had other ideas.
↵↵
Torres managed to beat Tim Thomas (only barely; Thomas, although out of position, still almost recovered in time to make a miraculous save) with just 19 seconds left in the game, giving the Canucks a 1-0 series lead in the process.
↵↵↵"Our confidence is pretty high right now," said Torres, "but we know, like Kes (Kesler) said, it's just one game. We have to carry that into Game 2."
↵
It was the first goal Thomas has allowed since Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, ending his scoreless streak at just under 128 minutes.

↵Game 2 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals is set for Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET.
