40 minutes wasn't enough for either team to find an edge on the other, and both went into the locker room without a goal to boast on the board.
The Bruins have still managed to outshoot the Panthers, with a 26-20 advantage, but once again both Theodore and Thomas have been there to make the stops. Perhaps one of the best chances the Bruins had all night came with 12:41 left in the period. Horton came from around the net and had a point blank shot. He fired it, trying to go high glove side, but Theodore was able to grab it just in time.
One again, the B's managed to stay out of the penalty box, except for the fighting penalty and a two minute minor to Brad Marchand for elbowing. Marchand tried to hop around Tim Kennedy, but knocked his head a bit and was sent for the penalty.
The Bruins are 2-2-0 when tied after the second period and have outscored their opponents 40-18 in the third period. The Panthers are 5-1-0 when tied going into the third.
