Daniel Paille Injury Update: Forward Progressing, Day-To-Day After Surgery To Repair Broken Nose

Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille is "feeling much better" Thursday one day after undergoing surgery to repair a broken nose and facial lacerations, according to coach Claude Julien.

Julien said Paille will not play Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers, but is listed as day-to-day and could return to the ice as early as tomorrow.

"I don't know how well he's going to be tomorrow, whether he'll be able to skate with us or not, or whether he'll take a few more days," Julien said. "He said he's feeling much better today."

In the third period of Monday's victory against New York, Paille took a Steve Staios slap shot to the face, fell to the ice and was tended to by the Bruins training staff. He managed to get off the ice on his own after a few minutes, but held a towel over his bloody face.
