Bruins Start Preseason Strong Against Montreal, Win 4-2

The Boston Bruins jumped right out of the gate Wednesday evening against the Montreal Canadiens and never looked back.

Netting a 4-2 win against the Habs, the Bruins showed a dominating style of play in the first period. Off-season pickup Nathan Horton scored the team's first goal within the first two minutes of play, getting helpers from Ryan Spooner and Matt Bartkowski.

Thirteen minutes into the second, Johnny Boychuk scored on the man advantage with assists from Bartkowski and Tyler Seguin. Less than two minutes later, Patrice Bergeron would net one against the Canadiens' Carey Price with help from Daniel Paille. The Bruins would add one more tally on the evening, just over two minutes into the second period, when Bergeron scored his second goal of the evening shorthanded.

The Canadiens would finally score halfway through the second period, with a goal from Maxim Lapierre. Mike Cammalleri would register the team's second goal on the evening, but they would not be able to add any more on the night.

Bruins' goaltender Tuukka Rask played the entire game, stonewalling 38 shots. The Canadiens split the game between Price (who let in all four Bruins goals and escaped the ice to jeers from a Montreal crowd) and journeyman goaltender Curtis Sanford.
